The Media and Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defence issued the following statement:
The Director General of Civil Defence, Brigadier General Imad Khreich, received in his office the families of Civil Defence martyrs from the South and from Sohmor – West Bekaa.
During the meeting, Brigadier General Khreich recalled the sacrifices of the martyrs who fell while performing their duty, affirming that their sacrifices will always be honoured and remembered by the General Directorate of Civil Defence. He renewed the Directorate’s commitment to stand by the martyrs’ families and continue supporting them and following up on their affairs.
At the end of the meeting, Brigadier General Khreich was presented with a commemorative shield in the shape of a cedar, made from shrapnel left by the aggression, in memory of the martyrs and in tribute to their sacrifices.
