During the holidays, decorations, lights, candles, heaters and large gatherings increase the risk of fires and accidents at home.
- Use only decorative lights in good condition, and switch them off when you go to bed or leave the house
- Do not overload sockets and extension cables
- Keep Christmas trees and decorations away from heaters, fireplaces and candles
- Never leave candles burning unattended
- Keep heaters at least one metre from curtains and furniture, and ventilate rooms where gas or fuel heaters are used
- Do not leave cooking unattended when preparing large meals
- Drive carefully, do not drink and drive, and wear a seat belt
