The Media and Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defence issued the following statement:
To spread a culture of prevention and raise awareness of public safety measures, Civil Defence teams carried out a series of awareness activities in several areas.
Akkar: an awareness session for National Education Scouts troops – Akkar Commission, introducing the Civil Defence and its missions, how to report and ask for help, how to act when a fire breaks out, and the types of portable extinguishers and how to use them.
Zahle: an awareness course run by the Ferzol centre at Zahle Garden, covering the principles of firefighting and public safety and how to act in emergencies.
Antelias: an awareness and entertainment activity for children at the Bébé Sucré nursery, introducing the work of firefighters and paramedics and Civil Defence vehicles and equipment in a simple way suited to their age.
These activities are part of the Civil Defence’s continuing efforts to spread preventive awareness and strengthen a culture of safety and preparedness across society.
