The Media and Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defence issued the following statement:

The Director General of Civil Defence, Brigadier General Imad Khreich, received a fully equipped ambulance donated by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), in the presence of MSF’s Head of Mission in Lebanon, Jeremy Ristord, logistics coordinator Ali Al-Taie, and mission support officer Hammoud El Shal.

The donation is part of supporting the Civil Defence’s capabilities and strengthening its readiness in ambulance services and emergency response.

During the handover, Jeremy Ristord said the ambulance would strengthen the Lebanese Civil Defence’s capacity to respond, stressing that the protection of paramedics and ambulances is guaranteed under international humanitarian law and that they are not targets.

Brigadier General Khreich thanked MSF for its initiative and support, and presented commemorative shields to the organisation’s representatives in appreciation of their efforts and cooperation with the Civil Defence.
